Our Vision

We are a parent led committee and we are parents of students within the AMDSB. We’re advocates for parent engagement and we believe we can help families enrich their child’s learning experience. That is why we are committed to supporting and promoting the engagement of families and the community in the education of our children.
We can achieve this by providing resources, sharing knowledge and skills, and opening the lines of communication. We believe in the parent voice in education and we will strive to foster communication between parents and our school board.
We hope our PIC and our new website will be a resource of support for parents, families, schools, our community and our school board. Together we can enhance and promote parent engagement that facilitates greater student success. As parents, we are our children’s first teacher. And we all have a voice and a role to play in advocating for what matters most…our children’s education. It is not only their future, but ours, too.

Our PIC Membership:

We are a parent‐led committee. Our chair(s) are parents and the majority of members are parents from across our eight school board regions. Each of our parent members is a parent of a student enrolled in the Avon Maitland District School Board. Employees of the AMDSB may serve as parent members and must inform the committee of their employment at the first committee meeting they attend.
